A REDARC charge equaliser is applied across two batteries in a 24 volt DC electrical system. They are often used when a lack of space prevents the use of a separate 12 volt battery.
It allows 12 volts to be tapped at peak load currents when compared to a voltage reducer. They produce a safe, stable, 12 volt supply suitable for sensitive 12V loads.
